The Event
The Ultimate Ashtanga Workshop is a culmination of over 40 years of teaching experience around the world that Yan and Manuel have collectively gathered from sharing this practice they have dedicated their lives to. From complete beginners to experienced Ashtanga practitioners of intermediate or advanced series, from practitioners or teachers of other forms of yoga, this workshop is to create a wholistic practitioner of Ashtanga Yoga, we intend to pass on all the knowledge that takes to make a complete and balanced student of this life changing practice. It is a full 7 days of sharing from morning to evening, and equivalent to attending over 20 workshops. Yan and Manuel have taught around the globe and are senior authorised Ashtanga Yoga teachers known for their compassionate approach to the practice whilst staying true to the deep underlying philosophy that has kept the practice linked to its roots Time to be clear in all things Ashtanga.

Meet Your Instructors
Yan Ong
Malaysia’s first Authorised Level 2 Ashtanga Yoga teacher & an Authorised Active Yoga teacher, Yan has been teaching Ashtanga for 15 years globally in over 12 countries. She has been going to Mysore, India yearly since 2010 & founded Mysore Room after living there for 4 years to study at the Ashtanga Institute with Paramaguru Sharath Jois. A decade of additional study in Yoga Philosophy has given her rare depth & understanding of the practice. Trained in functional movement & nutrition, but most importantly as a mom & female Ashtanga practitioner thru her 20s, 30s & 40s, she’s passionate about bringing her experience to help women in all stages of life, physical & health conditions to create a happy & supportive community. When she has a free moment, she loves to travel to new places, enjoy the spa & cuddle her husband, son & dog.... while eating chocolate.

Manuel Ferreira
With over 25 years teaching experience Manuel is the advanced Ashtanga practitioner & one of the most qualified Ashtanga Yoga teachers in the world. Since 2004 he dedicatedly travels to Mysore, India to deepen his Ashtanga knowledge. In addition to founding & teaching at Mysore Room daily he continues to teach workshops across South America, Europe, Middle East, Asia & Australia. There are no requirements or limiting factors to begin Ashtanga, Manuel meets every student at their starting point & brings them to levels they never thought imaginable thru this practice. He believes in consistency & hard work over talent any day & a longterm approach to Ashtanga is the best way to benefit from this practice. Hailing from Portugal Manuel enjoys surfing since a teen when not on the mat loves photography & spending time with his family.

This event is for all levels from complete beginners to experienced Ashtanga practitioners and teachers. the only requirement is the intentions to learn Ashtanga yoga holistically.

No you do not, if you are learning about Ashtanga in this intensive for the first time you are about to get a full all rounded immersion to become a complete Ashtanga practitioner.

No. There will be time to eat between practice and workshop sessions and an abundant selection of places to eat at the doorstep of the shala.
We also have a fridge & freezer should you want to bring your own food.
Filtered drinking water is also available in the studio.

There is street parking in both Lucky Garden, along Jalan Ara and mall parking at Bangsar Village across the road. Please make sure you have TnG app to pay MYR1/hour for street parking.
For Special Event Workshops over the weekend, it may be less stressful to drive and instead travel by:
