The Event
Yoga doesn’t have to be hard or hardcore nor does it have to be slow and boring, many of us are looking to start being active again or already active in other sports or activities and deep down we know yoga will help in both our daily lives and support getting better in our existing pursuits such as running, cycling, CrossFit, gym, pickle, padel, golf, tennis, or just getting off the couch or a long hiatus from being active. Some of us have injuries and scared to attend a yoga class for fear of getting worse, but have been told it can help, Active Yoga is catered for those overused knees and other joints needing care without the sacrifice of all the benefits of yoga. This workshop is to let you experience an Active Yoga practice and decide for yourself how it could fit into and elevate your life.

She has been going to Mysore, India yearly since 2010 & founded Mysore Room after living there for 4 years to study at the Ashtanga Institute with Paramaguru Sharath Jois. A decade of additional study in Yoga Philosophy has given her rare depth & understanding of the practice. Trained in functional movement & nutrition, but most importantly as a mom & female Ashtanga practitioner thru her 20s, 30s & 40s, she’s passionate about bringing her experience to help women in all stages of life, physical & health conditions to create a happy & supportive community. When she has a free moment, she loves to travel to new places, enjoy the spa & cuddle her husband, son & dog.... while eating chocolate.

Perlin Loke
Perlin is an Authorised Active Yoga teacher, his Ashtanga Yoga journey began in 2018, when a friend introduced him to Yan & Manuel at Mysore Room KL. His immediate affinity & passion for the practice helped him navigate the lowest points in his life & a background in the fitness industry with a post-graduate diploma in sport science has provided a solid foundation for a sustainable practice. Perlin’s transformative moment deepened during a trip to the source of Ashtanga in Mysore, India, under the guidance of Paramaguru Sharath Jois, which inspired him to share this powerful method with a broader community. As a late bloomer to teach yoga, he brings a mature approach, knowing age is not a limiting factor to start & receive huge benefits from Ashtanga. Beyond Yoga, Perlin is a dentist by profession whom enjoys nature, food, travel, architecture & cherishes great company.
